Community Project

El Armadillo Dorado – Secundaria COINPA
The goal of the project was to teach participants how to film and direct their own film to help them find a different way of expression and that they could show the world how they understand their reality.
The first sessions focused on technical issues on how to direct and film: different types of framing, shots, camera movements and how a film crew should be coordinated when it is a director were reviewed. The participants were granted complete creative freedom and were assigned a camera, a teammate and four days to make their filming, at the end of this period the young directors worked together with the resident to make the edition and add sound effects and credits to his short films.
The last session was held at the Foundation’s facilities, in order to carry out the First “El Armadillo Dorado” Film Festival, where a jury of professionals in the field of cinema judged, qualified and rewarded the best film productions made during the project. Parents and guests voted to be able to present the prize to the “selection of the public”. The central idea of the festival was to be able to show each participant’s work as if they were professional filmmakers and make them proud of the work they did.
