Community Project
The project involved the construction of a relief panel in ceramic, modular in squares of approximately 30 x 30 cm.
The panel was produced in collaboration with a community near Casa Wabi.
During the workshop, participants were encouraged to jot down and/or draw their dreams. In the first meeting, specific techniques were suggested to remember and record dream experiences for those who usually don’t recall their dreams in the morning.
In a second meeting, these notes were shared within the group and reworked, still on paper, as images (drawings). At this point, discussions took place regarding the relationship between the images, and how ideas, desires, fears, etc., can be interconnected.
In the third meeting, they moved on to working with ceramics. The artist and the group created ceramic plates that, while still wet, were drawn and sculpted by the group, maintaining the regularity of the modules. Each person spent time sculpting/drawing one or two modules individually.
In a fourth session, these modules were assembled by the entire group, and at this point, more free interventions could be made on the pieces to strengthen the overall panel. In a final meeting, the artwork was permanently installed at the group’s meeting place.
