Community Project

De cosas pequeñas surgen grandes– Telesecundaria de San Isidro Llano Grande
In the first sessions, Marita showed a Japanese dyeing technique called Shibori, using chemical dyes each participant dyed a shirt for themselves and pieces of cloth that would be used for the assembly of a joint piece.
In the next sessions, each student returned with their t-shirt already finished, then they proceeded to learn another dyeing technique using direct transference of natural elements on more pieces of fabric. For the final piece, coffee, turmeric, chili powder, metal, Jamaica flowers, and black tea was used.
The last session served to assemble 4 pieces that interwind all the previous pieces that were dyed throughout the sessions.
