Community Project

El Punto Ciego – Secundaria El Venado y Rio Grande
The first stage was held at Casa Wabi facilities where participants took the tour of the house blindfolded and were asked to sharpen their other senses to “capture” the space of the residence and draw what they felt, also with the eyes covered. Once the exercise was over, the tour was done again, but with an uncovered view and the possibility to contrast the two experiences. The session ended with a drawing exercise and self-portraits.
The following sessions were held in the facilities of the secondary school. Exercises of imagination and perception of the environment were worked on blindfolded with discussions about how the world around them should be continuously questioned.
“In this workshop, activities were carried out related to the understanding and perception of the various realities that surround us. These exercises were mainly performed with people between 12- 15 years, in which each participant was involved in particular, situations, which put in the veracity of the environment in which they develop daily and question how consciousness processes certain information and how it is decoded, understanding that reality is a series of fragments of information that is partially delivered to us, pieces of one or several puzzles that, to be understood, sometimes it is not enough to put them together. How do you understand and adapt to everyday reality? Do objects disappear from your consciousness after living with them daily? The fact that you can not see, hear, touch or understand something means that it does not exist? The main point was to expand awareness and generate questions that go beyond everyday activity.”
