Community Project

Bestiario – San Isidro Llano Grande, Escuela Primaria “Niño Artillero”
Together the artists Claudia Fernández and Benjamín Torres will make a bestiary of animals that live in the region, which will be based on drawings made by the children of the community.
The children of the “Niño Artillero” school, in San Isidro Llano Grande, carried out the work. For the development of the project, there were 5 members of the Committee of Parents, two teachers, and the school principal – speaker of the Chatin language – Prof. Ramiro Jiménez.

The project’s objective is to contribute to the revaluation of the Chatin language and the imaginary of the locality. Therefore, the name written in the children’s drawings was in Spanish and Chatino. They approximately made a total of 80 drawings. In the next stage, they will have to be selected and start the editing process. The final project aims to publish the bestiary.
