The rapid technological development of photography in recent years leads us to believe that it has existed since the beginning of history. Its continuous presence in our daily lives has made the image the most significant cultural product of the 21st century. I believe that when a discipline appears to be elevated to this level, it’s time to ask it some questions.
Its main objective is to pause in the midst of the daily flood of images and reconsider them from less-traveled perspectives. George Bataille once said: “Art is childhood regained at will.” Here, the concept of the minor is in harmony with uninhibited childhood and, in turn, aligns with humanity’s historical timeline when images were the primary language long before writing.
