He was born in Nayarit, Mexico, in 1981. Author of a dozen books, including Animal verdadero (Ediciones B, 2017), Apócrifa (Paraíso Perdido, 2017), Lengua noche. Sueños de 1985 a 2019 (Salón Crimesí, 2020) and La memoria articulada. Cómic, autobiografía y cultura histórica (University of Guadalajara, 2020). With Raquel Castro, he coordinated Festín de muertos (Océano, 2015). His texts appear in anthologies such as Los viajeros (SM Editions, 2010), El abismo (SM Editions, 2012) and Sólo cuento X (UNAM, 2018). Amado Nervo National Poetry Prize 2005, José Agustín National Short Story Prize 2009 and Casa Wabi Narrative Prize – Dharma Books 2022. Young Creators Fellow of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (2010-2011 and 2016-2017) and with Trajectory of PECDA Jalisco (2020-2021). Selected in the 2019 edition of the program “¡Al ruedo! Ocho talentos mexicanos”, from the Guadalajara International Book Fair. He is a Doctor in Historiography from the Autonomous Metropolitan University and works as a professor at the University of Guadalajara. He is fond of mountaineering and photography, activities that he currently combines with writing.
