Zazil Barba ́s work uses concepts such as time, language, luck, mistake, and waste, to try to understand and question human nature and social behavior. She has a special interest in the remains, the traces, and the vestiges (both archaeological and current). Any indication of existence or action. Material records that reveal human activity overtime. The collection and classification of everyday objects, fragments, phrases, urban remains, and garbage, serve her as a subject of study, and as raw material to create her narratives. She has developed his work in sculpture, video, performance, collage and installation. Her work has been exhibited both in Mexico and abroad. Since 2007 she has been part of the art collective La Favorita Colectivo, with Álvaro Ugarte and Alberto López Corcuera. Together they develop social and performative projects.
