Her works revolves around the search to generate a critical thinking through art, where the printed word, drawing and codified text are the mediums that make new ways of questioning and to live the present, possible. Montiel earned the bachelor’s in fine arts from the Facultad de Artes y Diseños (FAD-UNAM) and was part of the Seminario de Titulación Medios Múltiples 2, a Master José Miguel González Casanova initiative. She continued her studies in the Contemporary Art Program PEC- SOMA.
