– Casa Wabi 2024

Community Project

The proposal “Sensitive Pharmacopoeia of the Pacific Coast” was based on the recovery of narratives from a group of nursing students regarding their knowledge of botanical and home remedies. Based on these contents, a written and pictorial sensitization workshop was carried out to portray these recipes, mostly of herbal remedies, and finally another binding workshop was held to create an editorial piece that would concentrate the experience of all those involved.

Fernando Polidura (Mexico, 1989) focuses his artistic practice on exploring the limits of the idea of the body, particularly the construction of the sick body and its relationship to clinical practice and faith. His research integrates biographical elements linked to anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, a condition he has had since birth. From these elements, he expands his inquiries to include themes such as the dominance of joviality, the patient as the sole asset of medical practice, the invisible and intangible factors that enable the domestic functioning of human beings, and the errors that arise from the multiple constraints of Christianity and mainstream society.
