Fundación Ama Amoedo and Fundación Casa Wabi announce that Leila Tschopp and Ramiro Quesada Pons are the artists from Argentina who will participate in the 6-week residency in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. This exchange is carried out within the framework of the FAARA Conecta program of Fundación Ama Amoedo.
Leila Tschopp (b. Argentina, 1978) graduated from ENBAPP-UNA, Buenos Aires in 2002. She attended Tulio de Sagastizábal’s Obra Clinic (2003-2005). She participated in international residencies: Art Omi, New York (2015); FONCA-AECID Residency Program, Mexico (2014); Skowhegan, Maine (2013), among others. She has received fellowships from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation (2012); from the National Endowment for the Arts (2008 and 2016) and from the Oxenford Collection (2020). She has held individual and group exhibitions in Argentina, Mexico and Germany. Among her recognitions, she has the Diploma of Merit in Painting, Konex Foundation (2022); the Trabucco Prize in Painting (2020) and the Amalia Fortabat Special Painting Prize (2021); among others. She lives and works in Buenos Aires.
Ramiro Quesada Pons (b. Argentina, 1987) studies visual arts at the National University of Cuyo. In 2009, the YPF Foundation awarded him a scholarship to carry out the Artists Program at the Torcuato Di Tella University, participating in workshops and clinics led by Jorge Macchi, Diego Bianchi, Valeria González, among others. He was selected to carry out the project “The Real Image” at the Buenos Aires Young Art Biennial (2017), won the prize for the creation of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Culture Fund (2018) and completed a residency at Port Tonic Art Center in Les Issambres, France (2019). He was a finalist for the Azcuy Prize (2020). He held individual exhibitions at Galería Miranda Bosch, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Fundación Osde, among others, and participated in group exhibitions such as “The original brand, Argentine art” at the CCK. He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
