Lauren Pirie is a New York–based artist who works across a variety of media and scales, often in collaboration. Her site-responsive installations have been exhibited in Nuit Blanche, DesignTO, and Lumière, and have received grant support as part of ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art. In recent work, she has explored symbiotic relationships in nature through the lens of queer ecology, as a challenge to colonial and capitalist systems that have privileged control and domination over mutuality.
Danielle Firoozi is an Iranian-American artist who has lived and worked in Mexico City since 2018. Her practice is deeply guided by the essence of objects, whether her creations take the form of sculptures, drawings, or performances. Her work spans a variety of materials, each chosen to encapsulate specific themes or movements. The study of drag is a fundamental part of her artistic exploration, offering insight into identity and transformation. Her aim is to evoke a sense of breathlessness in her sculptures, drawing inspiration from R&B ballads and choreography.
