Unicornio Azul – Centro de Estudios de Bachillerato Emiliano Zapata, Río Grande
With the young students of the Rio Grande Highschool, the French artist Julie Escoffier, developed a photography workshop that consisted of space-time for experimentation to access an understanding of what a photograph is. Creating images through the practice of various techniques, basic and elementary principles of photography:
the dark camera, the frame, the pinhole camera and homemade photographic emulsion techniques. Seeking to approach the essence of analog photography, Julie Escoffier sought to convey the fascination she has for this process, the emergence of an image. The name Blue unicorn, was derived by the snails that are on the beach called unicorn because used them for the production of images.

Through sculpture and installation Julie Escoffier asks photographic question on voluminous shapes. The work set forth an unstable plane that is fragile, in constant evolution, and at times marked by a sense of incompleteness, it is struggling with issues that define it, such as its vulnerability, its durability or its possible disappearance, mirror the fragile existence of the human being. The potential failure is assumed and fully developed, the point does not end the sentence, the ephemeral is beauty.
