Mexican artist Galia Eibenschutz presents work produced during her residency at Casa Wabi Foundation in May, 2015. Three records of her performance work and a series of photographs deal with topics such as the passage of time, permanence, transition and routine in a context Separated from the everyday swing, as well as the contrast of the human body against the nature of the coast of Oaxaca.
Fundación Casa Wabi-Santa María works as a laboratory and exhibition platform for young Mexican artists.
Galia Eibenschutz (Mexico, 1970)
Visual artist and dancer. She studied classical ballet and contemporary dance in Mexico, D.F .; Completed the Bachelor of Visual Arts at ENAP, UNAM, Mexico, D.F. And completed her advanced studies of theater and dance in DasArts Amsterdam, Holland.
Her work is situated on the border between dance and the visual arts. The record of the movement and the passage of time, the scenic presence of the body and its projection in architecture, are the axis of her projects, which she develops mainly through performance, video and drawing. She has participated in international exhibitions in Belgium, Bulgaria, the United States, Canada and France.
