We’re excited to share the artists selected as this year’s Casa Wabi x ArtReview Award winners:
Maja Malou Lyse & Esben Weile Kjær
Denmark, 1993 / 1992
Maja Malou Lyse and Esben Weile Kjær are Danish artists working across film, installation, and performance. Their practices explore the body, desire, identity, and contemporary visual culture. Together, they create spectacular public works that transform shared spaces into collective experiences, using elements such as large-scale advertisements and fireworks performances.
Li TzuMei
Taiwan, 1982
LI TzuMei is a sound artist, electronic music producer, and researcher based in Taipei. Her practice explores the relationship between sound, bodily memory, and collective experiences, combining experimental sound, electronic music, and field research. Her work has been presented in Taiwan and internationally, with projects supported by the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and a Fulbright residency in New York.
Fernanda Galvão
São Paulo, 1994
Fernanda Galvão is a visual artist born in São Paulo, Brazil. Her practice focuses primarily on painting, while also exploring installation and video. Inspired by her relationship with nature and feminist science fiction, she creates fictional ecosystems and landscapes that explore metamorphosis, memory, and personal mythologies. She has exhibited in Brazil, the United Kingdom, Denmark, South Korea, and the United States, at institutions including Museu Oscar Niemeyer and Instituto Tomie.
