Community Project
The artist’s experience as a clay sculptor naturally led her to share her knowledge, inviting adults to reconnect with their playful and creative essence through creating with local clay. The project was carried out with local art teachers, promoting techniques that could be replicated with secondary school students.

Hanna Heino is a contemporary Finnish sculptor whose work invites stillness in a fast-moving world. Working primarily with clay and natural materials, she creates one-of-a-kind sculptures that balance fragility and permanence, softness and solidity. Each piece emerges through slow, intuitive hand-building, rooted in the heritage of craftsmanship and guided by material honesty. Muted tones and subtle glazes harmonize with textured, asymmetrical forms, allowing the viewer to sense rather than fully understand. Ancient architecture, sacred ruins, and botanical landscapes appear as distilled echoes, shaping a quiet and poetic presence.
Based in Turku, Finland, Heino founded her studio in 2019 after 15 years in interior design and residential development. Without formal training, she has mastered techniques and materials to develop a distinctive language. Her work blends abstract forms and nuanced textures while honoring materials in their purest state.
Heino has exhibited in premier galleries in Paris, Brussels, New York and Milan. Her works are held in major private and public collections worldwide, including the Royal Mansour Hotel in Casablanca, Cartier’s New York mansion, and Hotel Maria in Finland. In 2024, she was awarded the 5th Officine Saffi Award, receiving a special Casa Wabi residency prize.
