Community Project

“Score for Infinite Breathing” is a social sculpture that offers tools for the self-regulation of the nervous system through breathing and conscious movement. The work was created for the Rio Grande School of Nursing and Obstetrics, in appreciation of the caring work of future nurses. We activated the piece through workshops in which we practiced breathing techniques applicable to personal and medical contexts.

Accompanied by a guide with resources to deepen the theme, the work functions as a physical reminder of the body’s capacity to heal itself.

A graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Jamie has an interdisciplinary background in art and politics. In 2013, she co-founded and directed La Nueva Fábrica, a nonprofit contemporary art space in Antigua Guatemala dedicated to empowering diverse communities through exhibitions, education, residencies, and global partnerships.
