We are pleased to announce that Nastia Korkia, winner of the “Luigi de Laurentiis” Award for Best Debut Film at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival for her film Short Summer, has also been awarded the Mantarraya – Casa Wabi Residency Award 2025.
This award, presented for the eighth time in collaboration between Fundación Casa Wabi and Mantarraya, offers the recipient the opportunity to take part in a residency at Casa Wabi, Puerto Escondido (Mexico). During her stay, Nastia will have the chance to develop a project in dialogue with resident artists and local communities, fostering interaction, interdisciplinary exchange, and cultural enrichment.

Nastia Korkia is an independent filmmaker and researcher of Russian origin. Her work is distinguished by a kaleidoscopic approach to storytelling and by her exploration of formats that depart from conventional methods of documentary and fiction. Her artistic interest lies in navigating the boundaries between different modes of narration, incorporating diverse media and technologies into her projects.
