Daniel Toca conceived the literary essay as an artist, not as a writer. The border between his essays and his plastic work has been gradually eroded to understand the literary essay as a plane of consistency, as a model, as a spatial order, –sometimes geometric, sometimes purely poetic–, as an ancient writing, a pure writing composed by mazes, by investigations about the parallelism, the simultaneity that exists between literature, philosophy, theology… His essays-models finds echoes in musical structures that are revealed in writing and how they refer to an idea of time that Daniel Toca spun into a fabric, in which he discusses the dimensions or stories about it. A musical concept or a fiction involves a philosophical position, that position is a precise space that does not fit in the text, transforming it into a sculptural or architectonic material, that warns, even on a secret score, a rhythm, a personal infinite.
