Emilia Sandoval’s work involves artisanal craftsmanship in memory and body repetition processes though various techniques such as collage, installation, textiles and painting. The artist’s poetry goes though nature, to raise questions about colonization in our contemporary environment, using two different axis. First, the new species’ formation, through the combination of materials resulting from the capitalist consumerism. And secondly, the visual result of the body transformation through these relationships.
The artist talks from her works’ materiality and through subtle gestures, she builds critical reflexions, non only of actual Latin American society, but about the mechanisms supporting the Art World as well. Emilia Sandoval’s work involves botanics and science.
